Dear all:
In Chennai, some of us gathering at Panagal Building, Saidapet, near the Kalaignar Karunanidhi Memorial Arch, on Wednesday, 14th July at 4.00 PM.
The Tamil Nadu government has demolished hundreds of street temples, several of them over 25 years old, in complete contravention of a Supreme Court directive on the issue.
Citing traffic management as excuse these temples have been demolished riding roughshod over Hindu sensibilities and trampling upon the sensitivities of bhaktas who have been offering worship in these temples.
In at least one case, a huge fish stall and a roadside eaterie, managed by people of minority religions have sprund up in the same place where the temples once stood.
Hindus residing in Chennai are requested to participate in the protest demonstration on Wednesday. Please gather at the venue by 4.00 Pm. the demonstration will be staged until 6.00PM.
